About Runyege Ntogoro Dance

This is a courtship dance from the Banyoro and Batooro people or kingdoms from western Uganda. It is a courtship dance performed by the youth when it’s time to choose a marriage partner.

The dance was named after the rattles ebinyege that a tied on the boys legs and the rings entongoro which are tied in the girls waist in order to exaggerate the dance movements
